Regular readers of Blog Behind the Look will remember that back in January I shared with you a teaser film for the upcoming issue of Idol Magazine.
Well I am very excited to share with you all today the cover images from the issue. For this shoot I worked with my usual team who all have amazing visions and expectations plus some new members due to the scale of the shoot.
The editorial features 2 front covers and a 14 page spread within the magazine. It was a very ambitious editorial as we created 12 looks using styling, lighting, props and hair & make up that had a different feeling and concept in order to create each star sign.

What do you think of this editorial? Do you have a favourite picture?
Today I am sharing with you something that is really exciting within my career as a stylist. If you are a regular reader of this blog, you would have read my ‘Top 2012 Fashion Moments…..Goodbye 2012, Hello 2013’ post that explained that in December, I worked with Michael Furlonger on an epic editorial for Idol Magazine.
While we were shooting this editorial, we also shot a teaser film which has been released by the magazine, in the hope that it gets you really excited about seeing the publication that will be on shelves from February.
Issue 5’s theme was about power and I can’t share with you our title for this shoot just yet (Michael swore me to silence), but I can share this teaser video that we made while shooting the editorial.
So what do you think of it? Are you excited to see the publication? Have you guessed the title yet?
I hope you have enjoyed my post and that you are thinking of ideas on what the title will be! I look forward to hearing your comments.
Over a year ago, photographer Michael Furlonger came up with the concept for the Wind shoot but some how other shoots always seemed to take president over this one.
A few weeks ago we finally found time to shoot this and I can tell you that everyone that worked on this didn’t expect the photos to turn out as they did. After year of planning the photos that are featured on Idol Magazine online look amazing.
Hair and Make up was create by our very own Bunny Allen who I work with a lot and the amazing backgrounds were created by our prop/set designer Lorna Kelly.
Have a look yourself and let me know your thoughts.
Now as many of you will know I live in London; a city that I love for many reasons but one of them is because of our fashionistas’ that wonder our streets showing how stylish, diverse and liberating we are about fashion. Street style is something that I am really interested in as a person can show how they are and feel when one dresses for the day a head. For me street style is the place that trends start as people try to find a way of been individual and I love this quote that sums it up.
“Don’t be into trends. Don’t make fashion own you, but you decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way you live.” — Gianni Versace

Although all in black I love the idea of mixing different texture of black to create a look… leather, felt hat, soft cotton shirting, mixed with jersey and look what this fashionista is holding… the latest copy of Idol Magazine.
