Last Sunday I had the chance to attend the Queen’s Coronation Festival at Buckingham palace.
It celebrated the Queen’s 60th anniversary of her coronation and was hosted by the Royal Warrant Holders Association. This was a unique event as it brought all the warrant holders together in one place and what amazing place this was.
Queen’s Coronation Festival at Buckingham palace.
I had the chance to see some amazing British Heritage within these grounds and some of companies had been supplying the royal households with goods or services for over 200 years.
At the bottom of the gardens there was a collection of Jaguar and Bentley cars that had been supplied to the Queen over the years when she was on trips or had events.
Vintage car mirrors attached with leather straps to the wheels of this beautiful car.
These were beautiful and as you can see I managed to have my photo taken next to one. It was my favourite one at the event as it is a true vintage car and I could just imagine the Queen and Prince Philip travelling down the British country roads in it with style.
Like every girl, when I was invited to this event I started to panic about what I was going to wear. So I opted for this cream 1950’s style dress with beautiful bright blue flowers on. I teamed this up with a vintage cream bag and my favourite bright blue shoes. My cream glittery Max and Co sunglasses completed my look and protected my eyes in style.

The lake in the middle of the grounds.
The gardens within Buckingham Palace are beautiful and the event was full of people exploring the grounds and marquees full of products that they could purchase. Many people (including me) were even embracing the beautiful British sunshine by having picnics and the all time British favourite drink, Pimm’s.

I had a great day there and it was truly a unique experience that made me once again proud of my British heritage.

Regular readers of Blog Behind the Look will remember that back in January I shared with you a teaser film for the upcoming issue of Idol Magazine.

What do you think of this editorial? Do you have a favourite picture?
Today I am sharing with you my work once again. I did a test shoot with photographer Michael Furlonger, Make up & Hair Stylist Bunny Allen and Prop & Set designer Lorna Kelly. We shot with a new face Anna Smith and we wanted the shoot to look very pure and innocent. We had fun day experimenting with ideas and here are the photos from our hard work.
What do you think of the photos? I would love to hear your thoughts.
Today I am sharing a fantastic concept by a new brand called Antithesis. I stumbled across a video from the launch that I attended last year and thought that it would be great to share this with you all. See if you can spot me in the video!
Antithesis has designed a capsule range that is sustainable for any working woman’s daily life. The range entitled ‘The Carry on Closet’ features 10 pieces that are interchangeable so you never get bored of your wardrobe.
The collection has been influenced by the strict one-bag policy that budget airlines have enforced. This 10 piece collection is very versatile; blouses become sleeveless, blazers turn into waistcoat, modular dresses zip and unzip to different attachments and if that wasn’t enough these all then fit into a cabin-size suitcase. Check out the video below that shows you just how versatile this range is.
If you are a regular reader of my posts; you will be aware that I am a big supporter of sustainable brands and Antithesis is a brand that is economical conscious as they source their fabrics locally that only manufacture short runs for the brand.
Here are some of my favourite pieces from the range.

I really love the concept of this brand, at a time when we all have less money to spend, Antithesis bring a refreshing tradition back to the market. If you invest in pieces that can be worn in different ways and can be accessorised you loose the need for disposable fashion. Why not make a change in your own wardrobe and invest in the next piece that you purchase.
What do you think of the range? I would love to hear your thoughts.
While visiting my friend in Cagliari, Sardinia, she took me to the most amazing shop that I have ever been in and one that I really wish was in London. Love Retro is a vintage clothing and accessories heaven!
Love Retro is situated on Cagliari’s ‘Via Sulis’ which is what I can only describe as what ‘Bond Street’ is to London as it houses more prestigious brands and boutiques. Given this, you can imagine that ‘Love Retro’ is not like any vintage boutique you may have stepped in, it is home to vintage designer pieces, one off’s that only a fashionista can dream of.
Started up by Alice and her dog, which she refers to as the boss, 2 years ago she travels around Europe seeking out only the best vintage pieces. For Alice vintage means the art of true craftsmanship so she only stocks Love Retro with the best that she can find.
When you step into Love Retro, you can sense Alice’s passion for all things Vintage. The layout of the shop is beautiful, it’s spacious but yet each corner is full of designer treasures that you really get excited about finding.
Love Retro also stocks new designers that have been hand picked by Alice and these pieces don’t look out of place among the vintage pieces as these too are individual and unique.
New Designer La Fille Bertha
New Designer Karo Baum
New Designer Love & Sea
I love this shop and everything in it, it’s like walking into a beautiful modern time capsule with the most beautiful things in it. Clothing that has not only been designed by the much loved fashion houses of today but pieces with a story. If these pieces could talk; wouldn’t you love to know what they would say? Which glamorous lady wore them, which event she wore it to but most of all you could wear this piece of clothing and feel exactly how she felt when she wore this piece. That would be an amazing feeling wouldn’t it?
