I can’t believe that Monday is here again but that can mean only one thing which is that it is Music Monday! For today’s video I am sharing with you a video that only got released on Thursday of last week. This artist has been featured on Music Monday before but once I heard this song at the BRIT awards last week I knew that I had to share it with you all. Today’s video is Dark Horse by Katy Perry feat. Juicy J. I hope you enjoy…

Taking inspiration from egyptian goddess and icon cleopatra, Katy looks amazing as she is greeted with suitors trying to win her love. I love the outfits that Katy is wearing in this video they are full of colour that show off Katy’s fun and playful side. I also think that Katy’s hair & make up is amazing too and love how the egyptian style has been given a modern twist. If you look closely you will spot some cool nail art going on too. I love this video so much, the colours are amazing and this great song has a truly inspirational video to go with it. What do you think to this video? I would love to hear your thoughts.
Happy Monday everyone! I hope you have had a good weekend! For today’s Music Monday I have decided to open up the music achieves to share with you a music video that at the time was the topic of everyone’s conversation.
When I first started this feature I wanted to explore how fashion and music can complement each other and how sometimes you can’t have one without the other, for instance when you go to a fashion show it is set to music, when you go to a gig you wait to see what the artist is wearing and how many costume changes they will have.

Today’s video showed how the two went together without having the artist in. It was a time when models were icons and every young girl wanted to be one. You may have guessed by today’s title that I am sharing with you ‘Freedom’ by George Michael.
At the time George was the talk of the time because he had just parted from his record company. He made this video even bigger by casting the Supermodels of the 1990’s and had them lip sync to his song in the video. The video featured Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington and Tatjana Patitz and they looked amazing in this video showing why they really were supermodels at the top of their game.
So here it is the video itself….enjoy!
I hope you have enjoyed today’s Music Monday! Make sure you let me know your thoughts about this video. I would love to hear them!
Happy Monday everyone, today is Music Monday and I am sharing with you some who has been a modern day fashion icon due to her strength to be herself and break all rules to be different. I’m sure you have guessed that today’s music video is from Lady Gaga.
The reason I have chosen this video to share today is because it showcases some amazing talent which I am always a fan of. For a start we have a talented song writer and musician that in this song explores the meaning of freedom and empowerment. We then have the talented fashion photographer Nick Knight who filmed the video, that took influence from surrealistic images by painters like Salvador Dali and Francis Bacon. Add amazing stylist Nicola Formichetti into the mix, then you are bound to create something that is explosive.

I love the fantasy aspect of this video and the stained glass window dress designed by Petra Storrs (a girl of many talents) that Lady Gaga wears in the beginning of the video when she is giving birth to a new generation of people looks breath taking. There are so many parts of this video that I love and above I have screen shot some of my favourites.
Anyway now it your turn to check out today’s music video and share with me why you love this video too?
Hope you have enjoyed today’s Music Monday and that you feel that it has set you up for the week ahead. Make sure you let me know your thoughts about this video.
Note from The Girl dated 29/3/15 to all readers:
I have been carrying out some maintenance work on this site and in doing so I notice the video featured in this original post had been removed. With further investigation a came across this video that explain why this film was no longer available.
While I understand that some may have found this offensive, for me the fashion that featured in this video was truly inspiring which is why I featured it in my Music Monday feature and why I have decided to leave this post up. I have update the video so you can all listen to the fan video but you can see that I have left the original screenshots from the video up.
Thanks for reading

Well another Monday is here and once again it means that it is Music Monday and today’s music video is from a band that I have shared with you before but something that I really had to share with you as it is a great video and features some amazing fashion styling.
Today’s film is from No Doubt and their recent hit called ‘Looking Hot’ and Miss Gwen Stefani is looking smoking hot in this video as always but the guys in the band are giving her a run for her money by looking amazing too.

My favorite look that Gwen is wearing is the red dress. I love everything about this Look; the dress that shows off Gwen’s amazing figure, the tribal accessories but especially the hair and make up. It really does show why she is a fashion icon.
So here it is, check out Gwen and the guys ‘Looking Hot’…
What do you think of this song and video? Do you think Gwen and the guys are ‘Looking Hot’? I would love to hear your thoughts.
Happy Monday everyone! For today’s Music Monday video, I am going back to the archives to share with you a song that many of you may have forgotten about. It is a song that I loved when it was first released and when I saw the video on MTV I was blown away by its beauty.
Screen shot from the video
You may have guessed by now that todays video is fighter by Christina Aguilera. The video has been directed by Floria Sigismondi and tells the story of Christina’s beautiful transformation from been a venerable heartbroken woman in to someone that has found inner strength, belief and is now unbreakable.
For me this video, as I am sure it is for many of the creatives that I work with, is something that influences me to create powerful, dark yet twistingly beautiful imagery. I really do love this video from start to finish. I particularly love the eye make up that represents the beautiful free fluttering butterflies.
So all that is left for me to say is get ready to be blown away and inspired by the powerfully beautiful video for Fighter…enjoy!
What do you think of this song and video? I would love to hear your thoughts.
It’s the last bank holiday of May and I hope that you all have a great one! For today’s Music Monday I am sharing with you a video for the song that I think will be the song of the summer. It’s a sound that goes back to a time when music got deep into your bones and made you move to the funky beat.
Screenshot from Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’ video
I’m sure you have guessed by now this week video is by ‘Robin Thicke ft. T.I. & Pharrell’. I love the styling of the girls that feature in this video, white with see through plastic pieces finished off with chunky gold chain accessories looks cool and street fresh. The boys also show how to dress in this video and as I always have a weakness for a man in a suit, I really think they are looking hot in the video and set a standard for men’s dressing.
So all that is left for me to say is enjoy the last day of the bank holiday by turning your speakers up and getting your groove on to the fresh sound of ‘Blurred lines’, enjoy!
It’s Monday and today I am sharing with you a really powerful song by a lady who is touring at the moment. I heard this song on a night out over the weekend and it got the whole club moving and I thought that it would be the perfect song for Music Monday as it features some amazing clothing in it.
I remember when this music video first came out, not only did the amazing beat and lyrics as many of her songs give every woman empowerment. I was also blown away with the styling of this video at is raw and embraces everything this song is about.
So to kick start your week here is the one and only Beyoncè with Run the World… Enjoy!
For today’s Music Monday I am sharing with you this cool video for ‘My World’ by Iggy Azalea.
I love some of the clothes that Iggy is wearing in this video such as the studded leather jacket as it shows off her real edgy side. I also love the black and white shoes that feature right at the beginning of the video. The styling in this video is amazing and makes a statement, just as much as her music does! So kick back and enjoy today’s video…
Today is the first bank holiday of the month and the sun is shining which has made this weekend even better for me. I hope you have been having an amazing weekend and been taking advantage of the rare sunshine as who knows how long it will last.
To celebrate that the sun is out I have chosen a song that I am really loving at the moment. It makes me feel that summer is here and it is a song that you are sure to be hearing out in the clubs.
Today’s song is by the UK’s very own Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding, the video to the song ‘I Need Your Love’ sees Ellie playing the role of Calvin’s girlfriend. Enjoy…
