On Friday it is Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children and to help you find your perfect jumper we have put together our guide of top 20 jumpers that perfect for this great cause! The Christmas jumper was a popular in the 1980’s but soon lost its appeal and was seen as something very naff. In the 2001 film, Bridget Jones Diary, it was show portrayed as something to be embarrassed about, we can still picture Mark Darcy face now. Fast forward to 2012 and The Daily Telegraph declared it the Christmas must have and since then we have been completely hooked on them.
The traditional Christmas jumper is always great, we all love to pick out our favourite Christmas characters, Rudolph and gingerbread are ours but this year we just love the new and fresh slogan Christmas jumper. Check out our tops picks below, the #elfie is our favourite.
Here at Blog Behind the Look we have joined in this woolly fantastic campaign. Please join us to ‘Make the world better with a sweater’ and text TEAMBBTLJUMP to 70050 to donate £2, this year the government will double your money – matching every pound you give. We also want to see your jumper so make sure you take an elfie with the #TEAMBBTLJUMPELFIE – we can’t wait to see them.
Today’s collection by designer Freya Dalsjö is one that I completely fell in love with when I saw it. The use of colour and lines created are artistically beautiful with is something that Freya strives to achieve within her collections.
Launched in 2012 after studying at the renowned Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, she proceed to open the Copenhagen Fashion week her debut SS13 collection which was described by Didder Rønlund as ‘fashion boldness’.

Her SS15 collection features colour popping fur, a material that she loves and is explored further with her on going collaboration with Kopenhagen Fur. She has used this material to create graphic almost brush like strokes on a canvas which have then been infused onto textured fabric and used to create oversized dress type tops over wide leg trousers. These brush strokes have also been applied to kimono style wrap dress which really pop from their neutral background. In the video below Freya explains her inspiration behind the collection.
I really love the sculptural abstract lines that have been created using colour which have been used to make some amazing and beautiful pieces which are perfect for any confident woman. What do you think of this collection? I would love to hear your thoughts.
Today I am sharing with you quite a big collection from Margrethe-Skolen and I have to be honest with you all, I was a little confused when I first saw the collection as I knew nothing about them and I just felt that it was a little bit of a mismash.
My confusion became excitement when I did a little more research and found that Margrethe-Skolen is actually an Scandinavian Academy of International Fashion & Design. Established in 1931 the academy looks to provide its students with a creative approach to fashion education which aims to simulates them with the skills and craftsmanship to create unique and individual designers.

I think that this SS15 collection shows off the true craftsmanship learnt by these students while studying at the academy, I love the silhouettes created and how most of the pieces & colour palettes used are very commercial but are yet unique in style.
What do you think of the collection ?
Happy September everyone! I can hardly believe that there is only 4 months of this year left but now is where the fun really starts as we say goodbye to the summer of 2014, I can barely contain our excitement here at Blog behind the Look over seeing what we will be wearing next summer.
To kick of the new fashion season, I will be sharing my thoughts on the SS15 collections that were shown at Copenhagen Fashion Week. Now many of my regular readers will know that I have covered these shows a few times over the seasons and this is something that I always look forward to sharing with you as it is one of my favourite fashion weeks.
New York is about living in the here and now to create stylish fashion; London is about living in the future to create cool expressional fashion; Milan is about loving how one looks to create timeless fashion and Paris is where it all began with the chic fashion houses that we all love today. When you look at Copenhagen, it is very different from it’s older sisters, each season it shows how it has a sense of unique freedom, excitement and passion which is expressed by it designers and is why I have totally fallen in love with it.
Over the next few days I will be sharing some of my favourite collections but today I wanted to share with you, this video that really captures why Copenhagen is becoming a great fashion week to be involved in.
Before I leave you to watch the film, I just wanted to tell you about my favourite quote from the film…
Fashion is the moment that is yet to come…
For me this sums up fashion weeks completely and is such a beautiful saying.
So what do you think? Are you excited about this as I am? I would love to hear what you have to say about the film and I look forward to welcoming you back to read about the collections.
Over the past few months, our voice here at Blog behind the Look has been silent but we have been working hard on updating our site and we are very excited to share our new look with you all.
Since starting this blog 2 years ago we have learnt so much about who we are, what we want to be and what you want to read from us. We felt that our old look was limiting our potential to grow further and be the best that we could be.
The look and feel of this new site feels a bit more grown up, after all that is what we have done over the past few years. We lost sight of what our original goals were so we have streamlined the site to only feature the things that are important to us and things that you are interested in reading.
So what do you think? Do you like the new look?

I love the colours used as well as the checkerboard pattern which teamed with the edgy but feminine silhouette makes me think that this is such a woman power dress
I love these open almond toe sandals, the zipper teeth embellishments in gold and red that feature around the ankle and toe area, they give a real tribal feel as they remind me of beaded neck collars that they wear.
Featuring the now famous signature of the brand, the skull closing I love this clutch that has one side in black leather and the other in red with contrasting red and black dot studs.
Another signature piece from Alexander McQueen, the skull ring over the years has become a must have piece for any fashionista collection. This ring has been made in yellow golden brass and marbleized red plexi which is topped off with a mohawk and encrusted with large amber coloured crystals on the eyes and mouth.
I am really in to leather wrap bracelet at the moment and I love this one that feature a little gold toned metal skull charm with has dark piercing crystal eyes.
